DUB RIOTS :

Dub Riots is a Dub-Steppa-FutureDub project, formed in 2008 by Insom & iGL, both members of the Urban Danja crew.

Insom's love for bass sounds along with iGL's samples and hiphop beats, made Dub Riots sound a unique blend of easy-listening and energetic dubwise music.

Mostly known for their free tracks on soundcloud, their track "Rumours of the Rasta Lion" that came out on the VA album "Anticopyright.gr" by iliosporoi network in 2009, the collaboration with Nek & iCy "Rota tous", and their remix on Fleck's "Merda", they have managed to release music for LCL french netlabel & Dubophonic.

During these times, they have dj-ed allover Greece, in small bars or big festivals, playing with artists such as Joe Nice, Gaudi, Ble3k, Yinka, Vlastur, Fleck, Anna Mystic, while their first live came at "Athens Legalize Protestival 2013".

Their tracks can be heard at radio stations and parties worlwide, while their debut album is about to be released.

    Big Shine is a Ragga/Hip Hop MC & selecta based in Greece.

    A founding member of "Fyah Fist" along with Amira Lacrima.

    He's also a member of the music label called "Ghettolabel" with artists such as Dispero,Alicia,Hrizmo and others.

    He is involved in the reggae/ragga culture and has performed in numerous shows all over the country, singing from Reggae to Dancehaal,Hip Hop to Jungle,Drum and Bass to Dubstep. He has shared the stage with artists such as Alborosie, Groundation, Aba Shanti I, Dub pistols, illbilly Hitec, Dj Vadim, Rodes United, Moriginal Champ System, Nek, Moca Juniors, Kako Synapantima, Logos Apeili & I AM HIP HOP fam, Tang ram, Alutoi Grifoi and others.    In 2010 he took part in Moca Revolutionaries mixtape with other Greek reggae artists like Moca Juniors, Nek, Dispero, Rootman, Soulfire, Fundracar, Skaribas, i mitri and many more..    He also participated in Dispero's and Music Kitchen Records' double CD, called Man Vs Woman(2010).    Up until now he has worked in collaboration with great artists worldwide such as Rodes United & Nikitas Klint, Illbilly Hitec,

    Clinton Sly, Logos Apeili, Fort Bravo & Rsn and more..

Την Πέμπτη 20 Μαρτίου, το HipHop συναντά τη Reggae-Funk και την Soundsystem κουλτούρα σε ένα Live/Party στη σκηνή του Bios front (funktion-one soundsystem), Πειραιώς 84. Τη βραδιά ανοίγουν οι AFEZZ, Σάικο και El Chavo, μέλη του Phatskool από τα Χανιά, με boom bap beats, funky λούπες, γρήγορα flows και έντονα φωνητικά, μετά αναλαμβάνει ο Soulnek, ένας mc με πολλές δουλειές στο ενεργητικό του, είτε σόλο, είτε σε διάφορα projects, κινούμενος σε πιο soul και funky μονοπάτια, με τον Kill Emil στα decks,και στην συνέχεια ο Icy, ιδρυτικό μέλος των Fort Bravo και μέλος των Moriginal, σε reggae ύφος και dub,breaks ρυθμούς. Η σκυτάλη παραδίδεται στη Mammy Hot Anna Mystic, για ένα after grime/jungle party με τον Mc Dash στα φωνητικά. Η έναρξη είναι στις 22.30 και η είσοδος 5 ευρώ.

Bookmark and Share cover Anyone who is into Jamaican music at the minute will know that anything Addis Pablo touches turns to gold! This can be seen with this superb triple release from the Suns of Dub camp. A fine rootsy re-lick of the classic ‘Baltimore’ riddim sees veteran artist Mikey General touches down with ‘Zion I Children’ riding the riddim in a way only a veteran entertainer can, perfect timing and amazing powerful voice pleading with the youth to live up. The riddim is heavily bass led and atmospheric in nature, personally I could do with harder drums. Following this ( if you play them in ‘order’) Queen Omega chants some fire with her militant ‘Life as a Soldier’. Wicked tunes, wicked artists. Then comes the dub featuring Addis Pablo himself, in the style of his father Augustus, bringing the humble melodica back into the forefront of reggae music. The third cut is mystical, achieving vibes that only the melodica can bring to a track. The dub is mixed properly, much more than just a riddim track and the younger Pablo steals the show as we have come to expect. Getting play by the heavyweights such as Rodigan constantly, Pablo and the Suns of Dub collective are a sure fire hit from JA to UK and will continue to be for quite some time.
