Mr Bongo Records presents: Prince Fatty Vs. Mungo’s Hi-Fi
Mr Bongo Records presents: Prince Fatty Vs. Mungo’s Hi-Fi
upcoming LP, Prince Fatty vs Mungo’s Hi-Fi. For the LP, out March 24 via British label Mr. Bongo, both Fatty and Mungo’s remixed five track
In true soundclash fashion, Mr Bongo has plotted a friendly competition between Prince Fatty and Mungo’s Hi-Fi – “north vs south, roots vs evolution”; a battle of epic Dub proportions. As Mr Bongo describes: “Each crew has remixed five tracks from their counterpart’s catalogue, injecting the originals with their own reggae vibes.” First up to bat is Prince Fatty, remixing Mungo’s HiFi “Scrub A Dub Style” featuring Minnot. The collection was put together by producer and engineer extraordinaire, Mike Pelanconi, who has worked with the likes of Lilly Allen and Little Barrie. The Prince Fatty camp includes a helping hand from Little Roy, Bubblers from the Ruff Cut Band, Style Scott from the Roots Radics, Winston Francis, Horseman and Hollie Cook (also of The Slits). The Glasgow, Scotland, camp, Mungo’s Hi-Fi includes Tom Tattersall, Douglas Paine, Craig Macleod, James Whelan and Jerome Joly.
